CELLplex 7000 switch engine has two hardware versions. Rev B switch engines were the first switch engines that were released to the market. There are only about 30 boards in the market and all the others are Rev. C. switch engine. Rev B. boards support software releases through Release 3.1. Switch engine CELLplex 7000 (Rev. C.) works with the 20Mhz clock. This enables a total switching capacity of 2.5Gbps for the switch. Interface modules that are placed in the CELLplex 7000 can utilize up to 640Mbps out of the switching capacity of the matrix.
