The CBR Module for Legacy Applications is available for either access switch, the CBR module services traffic generated by your existing PBXs, channel banks, T1/E1 multiplexers, T1/E1 termination equipment (CSU/DSUs), and video conferencing devices. The module consists of serial and T1/E1 interfaces-supplying one serial port and three T1/E1s for the SuperStack II PathBuilder S330 access switch, or one serial port and one T1/E1 for the SuperStack II PathBuilder S310 access switch. The interfaces support both structured and unstructured services in accordance with the ATM Forum's Circuit Emulation Service (CES) specifications and ITU specifications, providing a smooth migration from legacy CBR service to ATM service. The module also implements Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA) based on PBX signaling for reclaiming unused voice channels for data, providing more efficient use of expensive WAN bandwidth. This feature is ideal for networks that use CAS, voice PRI, and CCS signaling.
