The ISU Express family of products are standalone devices that connect data terminal equipment to the ISDN network. The ISU Express operates like an analog modem but uses a high-speed digital telephone line. It allows data transfer at rates up to 128 kbps, four times faster than a standard V.34 analog modem. This unit is a scaled-down version of the ISU 128 and is specifically designed for applications such as Internet access, high-speed modem replacement, telecommuting, and remote office interconnection. For work-at-home or remote office applications, the ISU Express is avail- able with one or two optional POTS telephone interfaces.
