Description:
The Coax/Twinax Card for SCS is a 32-bit PCI-based option that is installed in a slot in the printer. This feature provides the SNA Character String (SCS) data stream and either a coaxial or twinaxial connection. For the coax attachment, DSC/DSE data streams are also supported. With this option installed, the printer will emulate an IBM host-workstation printer and print from applications running on an IBM eServer iSeries or IBM mainframe.
The Coax/Twinax Card for SCS automatically detects the type of cable, either coax or twinax, that is being used to connect the printer to its IBM host. If the printer is connected to a network, auto-emulation sensing will automatically switch the printer to the right language for each incoming document, whether it's with IPDS, PostScript, or PCL 6 emulation.
