Hornet 8 is the perfect solution for entry-level, mainstream, and performance desktop systems. As a half-height internal ATAPI or SCSI device, this drive can be mounted into either a 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch drive bay. The TapeStor Travan 8 is a bundled solution including media, diagnostic utilities and Backup Exec for Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT Workstation. With backup speeds of up to 72 Mbytes a minute, the Hornet 8 drive can store up to 8GB of compressed information per tape cartridge. In addition, the drive is optimized with FastSense Technology to minimize backup time. Three levels of error correction increase data integrity. Data error occurs in less than 1x10^15 bits read. In addition, the Hornet 8 is more robust with higher temperature tolerances. With an MTBF of 330,000 hours at a 20% duty cycle and 350,000 hours at a 12% duty cycle, the Hornet 8 is one of the most reliable drives on the market.
